I have been thinking about my friend Stephanie Vasofsky a lot lately and along with the other blogs I read I always read her journal that she posts everyday. Some background on how I know her. We were hired the same year as new teachers at the same school then proceded to teach together for four years. We both quit teaching around the same time because we had babies. I didn't see her for a while and then I started the MOMS Bible study and she was there. Well, at the end of the study last April I found out that she had been diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer and the tumor was already so large that it was pressing on her lung. She is only 28 years old! She has a supportive husband and little Zoe who is now 18 months old. She is taking chemo now but has already completed radiation. She has the best outlook on life that you won't even believe and a sense of humor to go with it. All she wants to do is use this trial in her life to bring people to Jesus. Please think about her and her family and say a special prayer for her.
Here is the link to her website that has her story and journal:

6 Years and Counting!
Well, tomorrow is our 6th wedding anniversary so the other day I used my precious naptime(Abigail's that is) to walk down memory lane looking through old pictures from our younger days. I wish I could say that we were doing something exciting tomorrow night but the fact is that we went to dinner on Wednesday night so we could let Matthew's parents keep Abigail. They left yesterday to go visit Amie , Craig, Jimmy, and John. As for Saturday, the real day, we will be doing our usual. Getting up, eating breakfast, "playing toys" abigail says, eating some lunch, taking a nap, getting up "playing toys" some more, hopefully not cooking dinner, going to get something to eat where you don't have to wait because 2 year olds don't like to wait, coming home to give abigail a bath and finally sitting down without a littte person needing something for at least 5 minutes. Sounds like a plan to me!
I found this picture as I was looking through old albums. I actually scanned it in because we got married before the digital age.(sounds like a long time ago doesn't it?) It was taken right before we left to go to our wedding rehearsal dinner. It doesn't seem like it was six years ago. I remember my mom taking this picture just as she has done for every other event in my life. Mom says "I need to take a picture before you leave" which means 15 pictures and I say "no we have to go now, hurry up!" As usual I wasn't appreciative at the time but at this season in my life I am so thankful for all her picture taking aggravation through the years.
Happy Anniversary Matthew, I hope we have at least 56 more!

I was tagged!
The Rules:
1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules. (**if you’re a non-blogger, you can email them!)
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
1. I am addicted to taking pictures. (of Abigail mostly) I love taking them and going to print them. The reason I love them so much is that I know I will eventually forget all the little cute things she says and does and it will be fun to look back and remember her being small when I am playing with my own grandchildren one day, hopefully! I also have my eye on a fancy, new camera that will take the picture right away instead if that pesky delay that most digital cameras have.
2. I love watching Regis and Kelly. I pretty much watch it everyday and keep saying I am going to send my name in for the trivia question to win me a fabulous trip but deep down I am afraid they might call and I wouldn't know the answer!
3. We are pretty sure Abigail is left-handed like her daddy. This is not surprising since she got most everything from him it appears. I am glad though! I think her daddy is pretty cute too!
4. I am a germaphobic and I wish I could let Abigail play at Chick-fil-A or Chuck-E-Cheese but I just can't. Luckily she doesn't know they exist yet. I am sure my days are numbered.
5. I love reading blogs. Most of them are complete strangers. Weird I know.
6. I love the beach/pool and anything to do with water sports. I worked at the Paris City Pool for seven summers as a lifeguard and swimming lesson teacher.
7. I miss teaching 2nd grade. I feel guilty about this. I am thankful I can stay home with Abigail and I don't think I could take her to daycare/MDO everyday(a couple days a week maybe), however I miss the interaction with other adults and the paycheck! Ha!
8. I turn 30 in less than a month!! I am getting old.
Now here is the part where I don't follow the rules, everyone I know that blogs has already been tagged so I have no one to tag! I did the best I could, it was a little stressful thinking of 8 things that you don't mind everyone reading.
Enjoy.

The Hottest Day of the Year!
Of course since we are having a record breaking heat wave our air conditioner decided to quit working! I used Abigail's fan that stays in her room to be her "white noise" and brought if out to the den and she and Millie parked themselves right in front of it with no objection. We were watching Curious Goerge waiting for the repairman to get here. He came at about 7:00 so we didn't suffer too long. I actually didn't realize it was broken until about 4:00pm when the thermostat said 87 so I called to have someone come out they had to charge us extra for an after hours call but when it is 105 degrees you have to go something! So today I am thankful for a cool house.

Photo Shoot
We took Abigail to Mimi and Paw Paw's on Saturday and I went to pick her up on Tuesday. She loves going to see them even if it is without me and that doesn't hurt my feelings one bit because if you know anything about her at all you know that she is with me all the time and separation is not an easy thing.(unless it is with grandparents) We just got her used to going to church without crying but guess what this Sunday is promption day and so we are going to start over with a new room and teachers.I can't wait! Back to the weekend, my mom takes more pictures that anyone I know and I am thankful. Abigail had two "photo shoots" this weekend and so Sunday afternoon after church and her nap my mom put her dress back on her and went outside to take some pictures. They turned out pretty well. The last picture is her smile when you ask her to "say cheese." Not really the best picture but I have taken lots that look just like that.
